Date: 4/30/2010 - 5/1/2010 High school athletes from across the state of Alabama will converge on the Gulf Shores and Orange Beach area for the 2010 AHSAA State Track Championship, which is set for April 30 and May 1st at the Gulf Shores Sportsplex. Over 1500 student- athletes representing classes 4A through 6A will compete in 17 events, such as shot put, discus, javelin, long jump, triple jump, pole vault, hurdles, dash and relay. Competition kicks off on Friday at 10:00 a.m. and will continue throughout the day until the last event starts at 3:50 p.m. Resuming play on Saturday at 9:00 a.m., the athletes will battle it out until the awards ceremony starts at 5:30 p.m.
